Week Two Wrap-Up

Another week down! MathPath reached full speed in week two as we dove into more breakouts, plenaries and activities with our new friends and classmates. By the end of the week, we are truly feeling the MathPath community connections becoming stronger.

Week two saw the rise of a couple of special committees as our MathPathers got serious about contributing to some classic traditions. The Yearbook Committee has begun the formidable task of putting together MathPath’s annual yearbook (this year in a digital edition). The Talent Show Committee has been accepting submissions for the end-of-program talent show, where our entire community shares some fantastic performances. Finally, our counselors announced MathPath Spirit Week 2020. We expect to see some truly extraordinary arrays of outfits next week!

While many students remain transfixed with the popular activity of online pictionary, week two saw the entrance of some exciting new activities as well. Maciej introduced MathPath to “Geoguessr”, a geography guessing game to test your knowledge of landscapes and culture. We also found amusement in the form of new puzzles with Sydney in “Clueless Crosswords”, where we completed crosswords without any clues! Our counselors are doing a great job keeping us entertained with new activities where we can play and puzzle — we can’t wait to see what they come up with next week!

We wrapped up the week with another excellent plenary from Dr. V, where we partook in the “Great Monochromatic Square Chase” with family members invited to join in the fun. Sunday played host to several special activities as our counselors offered more Dungeons and Dragons, board games, an engineering challenge and more.

Week two was so amazing, and we feel especially lucky for the experiences we’ve had so far. The last week of MathPath is coming in fast, so get some sleep tonight and be ready to make it the best week of them all!
